Wiele z dawnych rzemiosł przeminęło wraz z rozwojem nowych środków produkcji i nowych technologii. Sekrety dawnych rzemieślników odeszły wraz z nimi. Obecnie historycy i archeolodzy muszą sięgać po eksperymenty mające na celu odkryć zapomniane techniki, a czasem zwykłe zabiegi dawnych rzemieślników. W przedstawionym pokazie zaprezentowane zostaną różne doświadczenia wykonywane przez naukowców, a także rekonstruktorów pragnących jak najwierniej odtworzyć dawne sposoby produkcji.
In a lecture combined with a multimedia and real-life demonstration, we would like to present attempts to determine what secrets are hidden in the technologies used by ancient craftsmen. Many of the old crafts have disappeared with the development of new means of production and new technologies. The secrets of the old craftsmen went with them. Nowadays, historians and archaeologists have to resort to experiments aimed at discovering forgotten techniques and sometimes ordinary practices of ancient craftsmen. The show will feature various experiments performed by scientists and reenactors who want to recreate ancient production methods as faithfully as possible.
