This year, we will once again meet the laureates of the Silesian Scientific Award. As in previous years, this prestigious award will be presented as part of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE. The award is granted by the universities co-organising the festival, with the laureates selected from nominations by the Silesian Scientific Award Committee.
The award recognises scientists who have made significant contributions to the development of science or demonstrated outstanding artistic achievements, and promoted Silesian science on both the national and international stages.
This year's award ceremony will take place on 8 December at 7.00 p.m. on the Rawa Valley Stage at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
During the gala, we will learn the names of the laureates from seven Silesian public universities: the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, the Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, the Silesian University of Technology, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, the University of Economics in Katowice, the University of Silesia in Katowice, and the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa.
Additionally, an award in the ‘Doctoral Students’ category, funded by Metropolis GZM, will be presented, along with Special Awards: the Special Award for ‘Meritorious Service to Silesian Science’ and the Special Award of the Mayor of Katowice.
