It is hard to believe, but the Silesian Science Festival Katowice has already been there with us for... 9 years! Over the course of the eight editions of the Festival, we had the chance to enjoy thousands of fascinating activities demonstrating that science is at our fingertips and inspiring every participant to explore science on their own. Check out the summary of all the previous editions of the ŚFN Katowice and see how the Festival has changed over the years!

The Silesian Science Festival Katowice is one of the largest popular science events in Europe. The first edition of the event took place in 2016 and has since attracted tens of thousands of science enthusiasts every year.

And while we're talking about science – let's take a look at the figures that most clearly show the scale of the Festival:

over all editions to date, the ŚFN Katowice space has been visited by 700,000 people,

as many as 124,000 people followed the festival activities online,

3,151 speakers shared their knowledge with us,

we prepared 971 workshops, 1441 exhibition stands and 1854 lectures!

However, the history of ŚFN Katowice is not just about numbers – it is about the real impact on the science communication in Poland and beyond! Lectures, workshops and other activities conducted by Polish and foreign scientists showed that science does not hide in closed-off laboratories, but is constantly present in our everyday lives. Over the course of the eight editions of the Festival to date, we have had the pleasure to host a large group of renowned experts from various scientific fields who have shared their valuable knowledge and experience.
