The 8th Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE is soon to start! We invite all media representatives to participate in this event extraordinaire! We have launched a dedicated form you may use to receive your very own media accreditation and roam freely around the Festival’s space and during the Night of the City of Science.
This year’s edition takes place from 7 to 9 December at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The visitors may enjoy nearly 1,000 scientific activities – lectures, workshops, and many, many more! The event will host brilliant guests from Poland and abroad we have invited – scientists, researchers, science communicators, and experts in a variety of fields. The list of this year’s ŚFN includes such experts as Prof. J. Georg Bednorz, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics; Jan Pomierny; Prof. Menno Schilthuizen; Aga Szuścik; Karol Wójcicki; Anna Chrobry, PhD; Maciej Myśliwiec; Samuel McKee; Róża Hajkuś and Souvik Mukherjee, PhD.
The programme of the 8th Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE will feature a bunch of novelties as well. We have designed four special zones – the Gaming Zone, the AI Zone, the Cosmos Zone, and the Earth-Water-Air Zone. Another cosy place at the Festival will be the Literary Café, organised in cooperation with literary festivals in Poland: Aglo Festival, Silesian Library’s 'Space of Word' Festival and 'Granatowe Góry' Jerzy Pilch Word Festival.
The 8th edition of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE will crown the entire year of celebrations of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. The entire year of activities within the ECSK 2024 will be summed up during the Night of the City of Science, taking place on Saturday, 7 December 2024, at 7 p.m.
