The Silesian Science Festival Katowice and the University of Silesia are once again joining in to help the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Check out what you can bid on to support this year’s charity auction!
The 34th final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity takes place on Sunday, 25 January. In line with the motto 'Healthy tummies for our children', support will be given for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in the youngest patients.
Thanks to the auctions put on by the Silesian Science Festival Katowice and the University of Silesia, you have the opportunity to experience science in new ways! This year, you can bid for the following initiatives:
● A visit from the ŚFN on Tour!
Do you want a unique scientific show or inspiring meetings with scientists in your locality? Invite the ŚFN on Tour to your home! This is an initiative to promote science within a mobile zone. It appears as a guest at popular science events in the form of exhibition stands by exhibitors at the Silesian Science Festival Katowice, lectures, meetings with scientists and other interesting activities.
The winner of the auction will indicate the location to which the ŚFN on Tour will travel on a mutually agreed date.
The flying laboratory is ready. Bid for a flight in a balloon!
Take to the skies together with the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice and the University of Silesia in Katowice. Fly with us over the green Silesian region. Take a picture and check the air quality. Beautiful landscapes guaranteed.
For the winner of the auction, we are providing a wonderful flight in a unique air testing laboratory (the only one in Poland and Europe) on a date agreed in advance. It could be you! Show how much dreams are worth and how much support for the youngest is worth.
Only one person can take part in the flight – the winner of the auction. The date of the flight depends on weather conditions and will be agreed with the winner of the auction.
● The World in the Eyes of the Neighbour and a meeting with Prof. Ryszard Koziołek
The subject of this auction is the latest book by Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, The World in the Eyes of the Neighbour, together with a dedication. The winner will receive the book at the meeting.
Prof. Ryszard Koziołek is known for his unobvious view of literature and reality. And his neighbour – brilliantly mischievous, virulently witty, innocently provoking to pose subversive questions. When they meet – whether in a stairwell or in Katowice’s famous Piazza Miarka – sparks fly, and every conversation is the start of an adventure.
