Science has great power, and when it’s combined with helping others, extraordinary things can happen! As part of a charity auction in aid of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, ŚFN on Tour visited Private Primary School No. 5 ‘Twoja Przyszłość’ in Sosnowiec!

It was a day full of scientific magic – several hundred pupils had a unique opportunity to experience knowledge first-hand, carry out experiments and get an inside look at the fascinating world of science!

Take a look at what we had prepared for our young explorers:

● Space, the digital footprint and a mini-lab
Scientists from the Centre for Biomass Energy Research and Education at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia took the pupils on a journey from space technology, through vibrant flower-filled meadows, right to our daily carbon footprint. The young researchers measured CO2 levels themselves and tested thermal imaging cameras!

A stroll through the urban jungle & Science behind the scenes
Members of the Faunatycy Student Research Group turned the school lawn into a research site! With the help of professional equipment, the children searched for microorganisms and viewed amazing zoological exhibits.

Science as art (Agar-art)
Together with the Planeta Student Research Group, pupils learned about biodiversity that escapes the human eye.

On the trail of mysteries
Thanks to the USil Criminology Student Research Group, everyone could become a forensic technician for a moment, learn the secrets of fingerprint analysis and collect fingerprints themselves!

We’d like to thank the 'Twoja Przyszłość' School for their incredible energy, and the pupils for their curiosity about the world! It’s wonderful to share knowledge and support such fantastic initiatives.
