The Silesian Science Festival in Katowice is a place to develop your passion and discover the richness of various fields of science. Among the numerous activities, lectures, which are one of the most traditional forms of knowledge transfer, are very popular. These are accessible events that both address current topics and challenges of the modern world and take us on a colourful journey through the past. The speakers share their knowledge in an accessible way, inspiring and encouraging participants to learn even more about a given topic.

Recruitment for the 9th ŚFN Katowice

If you want to present your lecture to the festival audience and be among the speakers at ŚFN Katowice, now is your chance – take part in the recruitment for the 9th edition of the Festival, which will take place from 6 to 8 December!

This year's theme is ‘Dare to experiment!’, inviting you to a world of discovery, innovation and experimentation in various fields of science, and combine them in completely new and creative ways. In this context, we would like to emphasise the role of the university as a place where you can find your own path, explore creative, unconventional ideas and share your passion for science with others.

The recruitment is open until Monday, 31 March. We encourage you to submit your proposals, including lectures, via the form. All the necessary information about the recruitment can be found on the website of the Silesian Science Festival Katowice.

Lectures during previous editions of the Silesian Science Festival Katowice

During each edition of the ŚFN Katowice, attendees can listen to lectures representing such fields of knowledge as humanities and social sciences, science, nature, technology, medicine and health, and art. And so, we have travelled into outer space many times, looked at the figures of women who were prevented from entering the scientific world by prevailing social beliefs in the past, learned about the role of storytelling in the context of the climate crisis, and explored the secrets of the human body and the latest developments in 3D bioprinting and the creation of artificial organs.

And that's not all, of course! During the eight editions of the Science Festival in Katowice so far, participants have attended many other lectures on the festival stages. Many of them were recorded (and in the case of foreign-language lectures, also interpreted) so that they can be watched at any time and the discussed topic can be learned in more detail. We encourage you to watch the recordings of these unique scientific meetings, which can be found on the YouTube channel of the Silesian Science Festival Katowice.

Join the exceptional group of speakers at the 9th ŚFN Katowice – submit a lecture proposal and present it to numerous science enthusiasts!
