The ongoing Year of Health Education and Prevention has provided an opportunity for the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice to enrich the Silesian Science Festival Katowice with the possibility of participating in free preventive examinations. Find out how you can take care of your health during the Festival!

By participating in the 9th ŚFN Katowice, you will be able to undergo basic examinations, such as spirometry, ECG and blood glucose testing, consult a dietitian, as well as talk to specialists in the field of cancer prevention. Experts from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice will also consult on difficulties in the area of body posture and conduct free bone density tests. In the festival space, you will also be able to have your lipid profile tested and consult with a dermatologist, trichologist and aromatherapist. In addition to scientists from the Medical University of Silesia, the Health Screening Zone will be co-created by experts from the Blisko Ciebie Foundation, Scanmed S.A. and the Stoma Life Foundation.

Festival participants will also be able to see the Stoma Life Foundation’s 3D intestine – part of an educational project that raises awareness of the symptoms and risks associated with colon diseases through experiential, visual health education. In addition, on Saturday and Sunday (6 and 7 December), you will be able to check your hearing in specially equipped audiobuses.
