On Friday, 12 December, an awards gala was held as part of the Science Populariser competition organised by the Science in Poland website. Among the winners were Rector of the University of Silesia, Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Director General of the Silesian Science Festival Katowice, who was awarded a distinction by the Jury, as well as Jarosław Juszkiewicz, Ambassador of the Festival, who won in the Media category.

Prof. Koziołek was recognised for his ‘scientific activism in the field of literature and the promotion of conscious reading and for his great contribution to the transformation of the entire region of Silesia into a dynamic centre for the promotion of science’. Jarosław Juszkiewicz, in turn, was recognised for ‘maintaining high standards and openness to new challenges and media’.

Congratulations!
