W ramach warsztatów wybierzemy się z Katowic na wyprawę po polskim, angielskim i japońskim systemie językowym… na 142 sposoby! Razem przeanalizujemy definicje i znaczenia różnych rodzajów podróży oraz stworzymy sieci semantyczne, które pozwolą nam dostrzec, że choć, jak rzecze stare polskie porzekadło, „Polacy nie gęsi, iż swój język mają” – to podobnie jak reszta świata podróż postrzegają! Innymi słowy: sprawdzimy, jak bardzo (i czy w ogóle) polska ‘peregrynacja’ jest podobna do angielskiego ‘perambulation’ i czy ‘spacer’ to ‘walk’. Dodatkowo poznamy nowe japońskie słowa, takie jak: ‘tabi’, ‘ryokō’ i ‘hizakurige’. Nasze spotkanie to będzie wspólna robinsonada po słownikach z drobną pomocą technologii!
As part of the workshop, we will set off from Katowice on a journey through the Polish, English, and Japanese language systems… in 142 ways! Together we will analyse the definitions and meanings of different types of travel and create semantic networks that will allow us to see that although, as the old Polish saying goes, "Poles are not geese, they have their own language" - they perceive travel just like the rest of the world! In other words: we will check how much (if at all) the Polish ‘peregrinacja’ is similar to the English ‘perambulation’ and whether ‘spacer’ is ‘walk’. Additionally, we will learn new Japanese words such as ‘tabi’, ‘ryokō’ and ‘hizakurige’. Our meeting will be a joint trip across dictionaries with a little help from technology!
