Skały osadowe powstają na powierzchni Ziemi od jej początków aż po dzień dzisiejszy. Zapisane są w nich dzieje naszej planety, często doniosłe, innym razem dosyć błahe historie. Na stanowisku pokazowym pokażemy, jak geolodzy i paleontolodzy starają się wydobyć te dawno zapomniane fragmenty historii Ziemi. Czasem, patrząc na skałę, zobaczymy pył i piasek przenoszony przez wiatry wiejące przed milionami lat. Innym razem – ślady ogromnych podmorskich lawin, sztormów, zagłady lub rozkwitu życia w toni wodnej oraz głębinach mórz i oceanów czy nawet ślady deszczów padających dawno, dawno temu. Te i inne ciekawe historie zapisane w skałach będzie można zobaczyć na stanowisku pokazowym.
Sedimentary rocks have formed on the Earth's surface from its beginnings to the present day. They record the history of our planet, often significant, other times quite trivial. At the exhibition stand, we will show how geologists and paleontologists try to uncover these long-forgotten fragments of Earth's history. Sometimes, looking at a rock, we see dust and sand carried by winds that blew millions of years ago. Other times, traces of huge underwater avalanches, storms, the destruction or flourishing of life in the water column and the depths of the seas and oceans, or even traces of rains that fell a long time ago. These and other interesting stories recorded in the rocks will be available for viewing at the exhibition stand.
