Can a dog become a “son” or “daughter”? Pet parenting is the transfer of care strategies from the parent-child relationship to the human-animal relationship. This phenomenon is particularly visible in countries after the second phase of demographic transformation and mainly concerns dog owners. During the lecture, we will look at the scientific perspective on the phenomenon of pet parenting; its psychological and biological mechanisms. Is pet parenting a passing fad or a permanent element of contemporary culture? We will answer these questions during the meeting.
