Album Dimensions amerykańskiej grupy Believer łączy z albumami Post Momentary Affliction oraz Exhumed of the Earth australijskich formacji Mortification i Paramaecium nie tylko ten sam rok wydania (1993), ale także dość rzadko spotykana w muzyce metalowej praktyka lokalizowania w bookletach, bezpośrednio pod tekstami lub na ich marginesie, biblijnych siglów, czyli przypisów, skrótowych odnośników do Pisma Świętego, których funkcją jest – po pierwsze – odsyłanie odbiorców do ksiąg źródłowych, po drugie natomiast – zachęta do lektury Starego i Nowego Testamentu. Utwory stają się we wszystkich tych przypadkach formami egzegezy oraz nośnikami przekazu biblijnego, zaadaptowanego na gruncie estetyki metalowej i w nowym kontekście podlegającego rozmaitym transformacjom semantycznym.
The album “Dimensions” by the American band Believer shares with the albums “Post Momentary Affliction” and “Exhumed of the Earth” by the Australian bands Mortification and Paramaecium not only the same year of release (1993), but also the rather rare practice in metal music of locating biblical sigils, i.e. footnotes, shortened references to the Holy Scriptures, in booklets, directly under the texts or on their margins, whose function is – firstly – to refer the audience to the source books, and secondly – to encourage them to read the Old and New Testaments. In all these cases, the pieces become forms of exegesis and carriers of the biblical message, adapted within the framework of metal aesthetics and subject to various semantic transformations in the new context.
