Dionisios Sturis will be our guest at the 6th ŚFN KATOWICE!

Dionisios Sturis has made a name for himself as the author of numerous reports and podcasts, as well as reportage books. In 2021, he received the Traveller magazine award for Zachód słońca na Santorini [Sunset on Santorini]. He will be a guest at the sixth edition of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE in 2022.

Greek-born journalist and writer, Dionisios Sturis grew up in Poland. His name is no stranger to listeners of TOK FM radio and readers of such newspapers as Gazeta Wyborcza, Duży Format and Polityka.  His books have dealt with both contemporary Greece and Greek refugees who found asylum in Poland in the 1940s and 1950s. In 2019, he published the book Głosy. Co się zdarzyło na wyspie Jersey [Voices. What Happened on the Island of Jersey], which he wrote in an authorial duet with Ewa Winnicka. He has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Grand Press, the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for literary reportage, and the Beata Pawlak Award. Amateur cook.

The sixth edition of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE will be held on 3-5 December at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
