Czy wiecie, czym zajmują się naukowcy? Obserwują świat, zbierają informacje, analizują, a potem piszą i publikują artykuły naukowe. Ale przede wszystkim zadają baaardzo dużo różnych pytań. Czasem, żeby znaleźć odpowiedzi na swoje pytania, zadają pytania innym osobom (np. w ankietach), czasem uruchamiają wyobraźnię, a czasem robią jedno i drugie. Wtedy mówimy, że stosują eksperyment myślowy. Podczas naszych warsztatów zastanowimy się, jak i po co przeprowadza się eksperymenty w ekonomii. Stworzymy listę pytań, które powinni usłyszeć autorzy bajek, np. dlaczego każda z Trzech Świnek budowała osobny domek – może powinny wspólnie założyć firmę budowlaną oferującą domy odporne na ataki wilków? Spróbujemy też zastosować eksperyment myślowy, żeby ustalić, co by było, gdyby Królewna Śnieżka była uczulona na jabłka, albo gdyby Czerwony Kapturek znał kung-fu. Warsztaty będą miały formę kreatywnych ćwiczeń, zakończonych wręczaniem nagród dla zaangażowanych uczestników.
Do you know what scientists do? They observe the world, collect information, analyse it, and then write and publish scientific articles. But most of all, they ask a lot of different questions. Sometimes, to find answers to their questions, they ask questions of other people (e.g., in surveys), sometimes they use their imagination, and sometimes they do both. Then we say they are using a thought experiment. During our workshops, we will consider how and why experiments are conducted in economics. We will create a list of questions that fairy tale authors should hear, for example, why did each of the Three Little Pigs build a separate house – maybe they should start a construction company together offering houses resistant to wolf attacks? We will also try a thought experiment to determine what would happen if Snow White were allergic to apples, or if Little Red Riding Hood knew kung fu. The workshop will have the form of creative exercises, with awards for the most involved participants.
